2020 was a challenging year for everyone, and with the rapid spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), all forms of outdoor entertainment came to a halt. But in late October, I finally had the chance to return to the cinema to watch Christopher Nolan’s newest film, Tenet.

As a long-time fan of Nolan’s work, I left the theater deeply inspired. I decided to create a visual design exercise exploring typography, layout, animation, and storytelling. My intention was to design a concept website that could promote the film across digital platforms. This project is the result of that exploration.

Please put on your headphones.

The film revolves around time inversion, that is, instead of an object advancing on the timeline, it rewinds. Inspired by that, I thought maybe the site could reflect that idea, so instead of keeping a standard scroll that goes down, I did the reverse, going backwards.
